Galleywood Historical Society
Welcome to our Website. Founded in 1998 the Society aims to promote interest in the history of Galleywood and the surrounding areas. The Society works in partnership with Galleywood Heritage Centre and its Archive Group www.galleywoodheritagecentre.org.uk
The Society runs an annual programme of talks by both members and invited speakers. Membership renewal is due at the November meeting at a current cost of £10pa (£9 if paid by standing order). Visitors are also most welcome to attend any event for £3. A quarterly newsletter 'Past Times' is also sent to members.

Wednesday 10th June 2020 - 8.00pm at The Keene Hall, Watchouse Road, Galleywood, CM2 8PT Julian Whybra was to talk about 'History of Landscape'. Julian has kindly contrbuted an article for the June 2020 Past Times on an unrelated but locat subject.
However as part of the Galleywood Festival there are plans to offer a recording from our 2019 AGM - George Coutauld talking about 'Being a Queen's Messenger' as well as a series of interviews with Christine Whybro from the Oral Histor project.
